What owners say
Somchai Charoenwong

I brought in my grandfather's Seiko manual-wind — a piece I had been nervous to touch for years. Preecha handled the intake carefully, explained what the movement needed, and called me before doing anything extra. The watch came back running better than I expected, and the bench notes were genuinely useful.

Good experience. Brought in a Tissot quartz that had been running slow. They changed the battery, checked the seals, and gave me a written summary of the condition. Turnaround was fast. The price was what they quoted. Only minor note is that the workshop is quite tucked away on Nimman — worth calling ahead first.

I had the bracelet on my daily watch resized and the crown seal replaced. Nattaya was careful and quick. She explained why the water-resistance rating had dropped from the original spec and what the replacement gasket restores. Small detail, but I appreciated being told rather than just having it fixed silently.

I was only in Chiang Mai for two weeks and needed a battery in my travel watch. Tickhaven got it done same day. They also pointed out a crack in the crystal I had not noticed — did not push a sale, just told me. That kind of straightforwardness is what I expect from a watchmaker and rarely get.

I sent my late father's Citizen automatic to Tickhaven after finding them through a collector forum. The overhaul took about six weeks, but they sent me updates twice during that period which I appreciated. The movement is now running within 8 seconds a day. I was told honestly not to expect factory spec from a 45-year-old calibre — and I respect that.

I have used this workshop twice now. The first time was a simple battery change; the second was for a more involved case cleaning on a dress watch I had scratched. The case work was done well and they asked about my preferences before touching the finish. Four stars rather than five only because their turnaround on the second job was a day longer than estimated.

A few pieces in more detail
With the owners' permission, three service stories that illustrate what working with us looks like in practice.
Case Study 01 · Complete Vintage Overhaul
The challenge
A 1972 Longines manual-wind arrived running approximately two minutes fast per day. The previous service was unknown. The crystal had a stress crack and the crown was stiff. The owner wanted the watch wearable, not museum-piece restored.
What we did
Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, re-lubrication with period-appropriate grades. The balance staff was slightly bent — we sourced a replacement from a donor movement. Crystal replaced with a correct-profile acrylic. Case was cleaned but not polished, per the owner's instruction.
The outcome
Movement settled to +5 seconds per day in dial-up position. Owner collected after 5 weeks with full bench notes. Quote: "I wear it on weekends now. The crown feels right, the case still looks its age. Exactly what I wanted."
Case Study 02 · Strap, Bracelet & Case Care
The challenge
A modern stainless bracelet had stretched over four years of daily wear. Two links had become loose. The clasp was not closing securely. The owner also wanted to have the bracelet sized down after weight loss.
What we did
Removed three links, tightened the remaining link pins, and adjusted the micro-adjust on the clasp to the correct position. The clasp spring was worn — replaced. Case cleaned with appropriate tools without touching the brushed finish on the lugs.
The outcome
Bracelet returned securely fitted, with consistent link tension. Completed in two days. Owner: "It feels like a new watch. I had forgotten what a properly fitted bracelet was supposed to feel like."
